We would like to inform you of the recent changes in the Management Board, the Data Protection Working Group within the European Union Affairs Committee (EAC) and the Corporate Social Responsibility Activities Circle (CSR-C), which took place after the 112th PostEurop Management Board meeting and the PostEurop Plenary Assembly. We would also like to bring your attention to the formalisation of the RADAR Transversal and the newly established Emerging Industry Trends (EIT) Task Force within the Market Activities Circle (MAC).

Management Board

Oliver Kaliski (Österreichische Post AG) has been confirmed as the new member of the Management Board during the Plenary Assembly in Tbilisi, thus replacing the position left available by Posta Romana.

Oliver is Head of International Relations of Österreichische Post (Austria). He is responsible for managing and coordinating activities and relations with international organizations. Known in the PostEurop community, Oliver has held the position of Vice-Chair of the Market Activities Circle and engaged in PostEurop regulatory affairs matters.

Prior to joining the Austrian Post, Oliver held various positions in the Telecommunication sector including as Senior Adviser in Regulatory and European Affairs for Telekom Austria Group as well as mobilkom austria group. In the earlier part of his career, Oliver worked in the area of research and his role included development and project management of research projects. Oliver has also participated and lectured in various national and international congresses, seminars and workshops.

Data Protection Working Group

Beatriz Galvan-Santiago (Correos y Telégrafos S.A.) has been appointed as the new Chair of the reinstated Data Protection working group.

Beatriz is the EU Relations Manager for Correos (Spain), a position she has held since 2012. Previously, she was involved in the monitoring and negotiation of EU regulation, notably the 3rd Postal Directive, as well as during the transposition process to national regulations. Since 2004 she has been active in the International Direction of Correos, representing the company before many international organizations. She has a BS in Theoretical Physics from the University Autonoma of Madrid, and a MBA from the University Carlos III of Madrid and ESADE Business School. Later on, she attended the Diplomatic School of Spain, where she studied EU Affairs.

Alongside Beatriz, Sarah Draper (Royal Mail Group) has been appointed as the new Vice-Chair of the Data Protection working group.

Sarah is the Assistant General Counsel at Royal Mail Group leading the Strategic Transactions Team which incorporates the Corporate, Finance, Technology, IP and Data legal team teams and working as well as Interim Data Protection Officer. She joined the company in 2013 after several years of experience working for international companies, and for the Central Government. Sarah has a L.L.B. Hons Law from the University of Leicester, a Legal Practice Course (Commendation) from the College of Law and she completed an Executive Leadership Development Programme from the Said Business School University of Oxford as well.

Corporate Social Responsibility Activities Circle

Margaux Meidinger (Le Groupe La Poste) was also confirmed as Chair of the active Corporate Social Responsibility Activities Circle (CSR-C), supported by the Vice-Chair, Kalina Toteva (Bulgarian Post). Following the departure of her colleague Nathalie Ganzel in June this year, Margaux has stepped in as Interim Chair of the CSR-C.

RADAR Transversal

During our latest Plenary Assembly, Members also approved the formalisation of the RADAR Group (Radar Reactivity Agility Decision Adaptability Result) as a Transversal. The Transversal is led by Mr. Jean-Luc Delcroix (La Poste Monaco) as Chair and Mrs. Valerie Ballouhey-Dauphin (Post Luxembourg) as Vice-Chair.  This action was specifically taken, in recognition of the needs for further developing the exchange of common views, best practices and issues between postal operators who have less than 1,500 employees and/or that operate in an area of less than 15,000 Km2. This new Transversal will tackle a wide-range of topics according to their multi-business specificities, scopes and needs. 

Emerging Industry Trends Task Force

At the same time, Members also approved the launch of the special Emerging Industry Trends (EIT) Task Force, which will be organised under the current Market Activities Circle (MAC).  Marjan Osvald, the Chair of the MAC has volunteered to launch the group’s work.  Since the introduction of the EIT Task Force, a number of postal operators have expressed interest in participating in the activities of this Task Force.
