There were four nominees for the Project of the Year title: Tallink Group for launching the Muuga-Vuosaari ship route, Nefab for their new logistics centre, Hansab for the „Smart Port“ project and Omniva for launching their logistics centre.
The winner was decided equally on the votes of the the jury and on the public voting in the logistics news portal www.logistikauudised.ee. There were 259 participants in public voting and over 40% thought that the title should go to Omniva.
The jury has to agree with the public. Omniva’s new logistics centre located in Rae Parish, is the biggest improvement in the Estonian logistics world in this year,“ stated the chairman of the jury and the member of the board at PROLOG - Estonian Supply Chain Association, Tõnis Hintsov.
Besides Hintsov, there were four members in the jury – Peep Tomingas also from PROLOG and Tõnu Tramm, Harro Puusild, Roberta Lupp from Äripäev.
The purpose of the competition is to acknowledge success in logistics field. Last year the title went to Omniva as well, that time for the last-mile robot delivery pilot done in co-operation with Starship Technologies and Daimler.
In the previous years, the prize has been awarded to Estonian National Museum, Live Technologies, Emergency Center, ELRON, EVR Cargo, Estonian Logistics and Transit Association, DPD Estonia, SmartPOST, Magnum Logistics, A Le Coq, Lextrans/Autologistika, Port of Sillamäe, DFDS Transport (DSV Transport), Schenker, Telema and others.
