“Growing LP EXPRESS mail volumes started requiring more room for daily activities; therefore, we took a decision to expand our premises. One of key criteria while searching for new premises was location. We are striving to be close to our customers to ensure convenient use of our services. Operations in new premises will enable to serve more customers and provide services much more efficiently,” Domas Sabaitis, director of Baltic Post, subsidiary company of Lithuania Post, said.

According to estimations of Mr Sabaitis, with automated handling of items efficiency of LP EXPRESS couriers will increase by 6-7 times. This will enable the company to deliver 2-3 times more items than at present.

Customers will receive more convenient LP EXPRESS service, as the new logistic centre will carry out its activities in Ogmios City at Verkių Street numerous in offices, shopping centres, and companies engaged in various activities. The trade territory located close to the city centre is easily accessible both by public and individual transport.

In the new LP EXPRESS premises, customer service hours will be extended until 9 p.m. starting from 9 a.m., and on Saturdays customers will receive services from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. During holiday season, for convenience of customers, customers will be able to submit and pick up their items until midnight.

LP EXPRESS couriers are going to move to the new premises at the beginning of November. This is the first step in strengthening Lithuania Post’s position in the market competing with providers of logistic services. At the end of 2014, Lithuania Post is going to open a logistic centre at the highway Vilnius-Kaunas to handle and distribute all items sent via Lithuania Post and UAB Baltic Post.

LP EXPRESS is the only one in Lithuania offering such a wide choice of delivery options. Items can be posted from any post office in Lithuania out of 700 as well as via LP EXPRESS couriers, or LP EXPRESS self-service parcel terminals operational 24 hours a day. At present, the network of LP EXPRESS 24 consists of 71 terminals located in 41 cities and towns. This is the widest network of self-service parcel terminals in Lithuania.
