Almost 4000 litas Raised for Save the Children Lithuania

From the very beginning of charity campaign launched at post offices and PayPost outlets the citizens have already donated almost 4000 litas. This charity initiative received support both from residents in the largest Lithuanian cities and small towns.

"The post offices in Alytus, Lauksargiai, Palėdagiai, and Vilnius, and the PayPost outlets in Naujoji Akmenė, Klaipėda, and the capital can be singled out as the most active in money raising. We hope that the citizens will further donate cash money and will buy special books and CD, Head of Marketing and Communication Department of Lithuania Post Rasa Kruopaitė-Lalienė said.

Director general of the organization Save the Children Lithuania Rasa Dičpetrienė said she appreciated cooperation between the organization and Lithuania Post and wished to remind that there were really many children in need of support:

About 700 children from eligible families come daily to 30 day care centres supported by Save the Children Lithuania. At the centres, they receive meal, make their homework, and take up interesting and educating after-school activities. Other activities initiated and maintained by the organization are also worth mentioning. They include bullying prevention programmes at Lithuanian schools, work with adoptive parents, work with families in need of support, and etc.

The donated funds are accepted in cash at all post offices and PayPost outlets, and no charges are applied for acceptance and transfer of the funds. The people of good will are free to choose whether to be known or unknown, i.e. there is no obligation to reveal one's identity.

This should be said to the staff in advance.
