Deutsche Post DHL Group earns sixth Total E-Quality Award

Corporation earns award for long-term, sustainable equal opportunity for women and men

For the sixth year in a row Deutsche Post DHL Group has received the Total E-Quality award for its HR practices that offer equal opportunity for women and men. One specific point of praise came for the Group's work toward Diversity Management, earning it a "Diversity add-on." The award, announced every three years by the Total E-Quality Deutschland association, goes to companies and organizations which have shown demonstrable commitment and implementation of equal opportunities for women and men. Within Germany, women make up 45.2 percent of the total workforce, with 21.2 percent of those women in leadership positions (stand: 31.12.2014).

"Equal opportunity for women and men is an important aspect of Diversity Management at Deutsche Post DHL. I'm convinced that those companies which recognize and utilize the diversity and benefits of mixed teams will be the ones to succeed in the long term. Receiving the Total E-Quality Award once again confirms the sustainable nature and success of our approach in this area," notes Susanna Nezmeskal, Department Head for Diversity, Deutsche Post DHL Group.

One focal point for Deutsche Post DHL Group in this regard is boosting the share of women in leadership positions. A global corporate-wide project was initiated to this end several years ago. The development of benchmarks and development programs for young female executive talent has been a success within the company's different units. In recent years, the share of women in leadership positions has risen, landing at 19.3 percent at the end of 2014.

The jury praised the corporation's numerous Diversity measures, including the establishment of Diversity Councils, the implementation of Diversity Awareness Training sessions and the introduction of a Diversity Day, as well as the Group's transparency in terms of publishing benchmark figures from its HR department.
