PostNL first logistics company to report at the Gold level on CSR

As first logistics company in the Netherlands, PostNL reports at FIRA Gold-level for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy.

PostNL publishes its CSR performances on the FIRA platform, providing insight for buyers, suppliers and current and potential customers. FIRA verifies and assesses PostNL’s reported CSR performances. FIRA has now confirmed that PostNL is reporting at the gold level.

In its assessment, FIRA looked at the attention PostNL gives to the climate, being a good employer and making a positive contribution to the community. PostNL has demonstrated that CSR is an important theme within its business practices and that the organisation is increasingly focused on sustainability. There is a clear policy for measuring and improving performance and innovation in the area of sustainability. This satisfies the international guidelines for corporate social responsibility.

PostNL is a reliable CSR partner

Albert Rodenboog, member of the Board and Chair of the Sustainability Council at PostNL: “I think it’s not only important for us to take responsibility, but also that customers and suppliers can see how sustainable we are. Thanks to FIRA, they can see and assess that for themselves, so that they know for certain that we are a reliable partner in providing sustainable mail and parcel solutions. We can also choose guaranteed sustainable suppliers from the FIRA list ourselves.”

Increasingly transparent policy

The FIRA platform is a system with four process levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Since 2014, FIRA has evaluated PostNL’s CSR performances and assessed its CSR policy. In 2014, PostNL achieved the bronze level, a year later silver, and now gold.
