- Increase of 25% compared to last year.
Ideal outfit for New Year’s Eve or gifts to put under the tree, all are increasingly shopped online, and bpost delivers at home or at a pick-up point, as selected. Last year, bpost had already had a busy end-of-year period, with the number of packages double the average. At the end of the year, the company expects once more to process a record number of parcels, with peaks of up to 450,000 per day. On December 18th, bpost will donate 20 cents to Music For Life and Viva For Life for each parcel distributed.
This year, the peak period started surprisingly early for bpost. A significant increase in the number of parcels has indeed already been noted since the "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" of November 23 and 26. With the Christmas weekend in view, the number of parcels passing through the bpost network is reaching unprecedented levels every day. In the days leading up to Christmas, the company expects to process an average of 420,000 parcels a day, or even up to 450,000. This amounts to a 100% growth against a regular business day and a 25% increase over the same period last year.
