On Cyber Monday 2 December, PostNL reached a new milestone: over 3 million parcels were processed in a single day.

The previous record of 2.8 million parcels had been set just a week earlier. This demonstrates the extraordinary level of activity during this festive period.

On Cyber Monday, we set a new record. We have never received so many parcels in a single day — an impressive total of 3 million parcels. Leading up to Sinterklaas, we are seeing continued online shopping at high volumes. This surge requires an enormous effort. Our employees are truly showcasing the meaning of teamwork in a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone is pulling together to process this record number of parcels — a performance we are very proud of. The tens of thousands of compliments in the PostNL-app underpin how much people at home appreciate their deliverers,” said Stephan van den Eijnden, Managing Director Commerce at PostNL.

Handling such an immense volume of parcels demands the utmost from the entire supply chain. Webshops are spreading out their online promotions, and consumers are using the PostNL-app to specify their delivery preferences. PostNL has mobilised additional staff and organised an extra delivery day. PostNL continues to work hard and manage the high volume of parcels during this holiday season.
