Here are the recent changes within the PostEurop organisation following the PostEurop 138th Board of Directors meeting.

PostEurop Board of Directors

PostEurop welcome Ian Wilkinson (Royal Mail) as a new Board Member, succeeding David Pilkington (Royal Mail).

Ian is the Head of Postal Policy – Multilateral at Royal Mail. He brings nearly 30 years of expertise in transformative leadership at Royal Mail, delivering innovative solutions and spearheading major programs across domestic and international sectors. A seasoned leader, he has driven major change initiatives, enhanced customer service, and spearheaded product development.

His extensive contributions to the postal and logistics sector include:

  • Leading Royal Mail’s response to a cyber incident by leveraging his expertise in EAD and IPS.
  • Playing a key role in various UPU standards board and POC groups, as well as actively participating in IATA and ICAO contact committees.
  • Chairing Expert teams in relation to ICS2 within the UPU transport group.

Ian has also led major customer transformations, deploying parcel postboxes, product improvements and enhancing customer experience services within Royal Mail. With qualifications in programme management and direct marketing. He is an Oxford University, Saïd Business School alumnus.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to David for his valuable contributions to the Board and his leadership in the Security and Customs Transversal.

Best Practices Sharing Committee

Within the Best Practices Sharing Committee, we had the pleasure to welcome onboard Xavier Clabots (bpost), Yvonne Rohde (PostNL) and Jan Matthys (bpost) in their respective new roles.

Xavier Clabots – Chair, Stamps & Philately Working Group

Xavier Clabots is a dedicated leader in philately and stamp production, currently serving as Head of Philately & Stamps Printing at bpost. Since 2023, he has overseen the design, production, and promotion of stamps, contributing to the innovation and heritage of Belgian philately.

Since joining bpost in 2009, Xavier has held key roles, including Product Manager for Stamps & Philately, Senior Process Manager in Financial Services, and Head of the Franking Factory & Digital Document Center.

Beyond bpost, Xavier is actively engaged in the philatelic community, serving as Vice-Chair of the PostEurop Stamps & Philately Working Group and Chair of bephila, promoting philately in Belgium. Since 2021, he has also been a Maître de conférences at Solvay Brussels School, ULB, sharing his expertise with future professionals.

Xavier replaces Agnieszka Trząskowska from Poczta Polska who has contributed significantly to development of the working group. Together, we would like to thank Agnieszka for her leadership.

Yvonne Rohde – Vice-Chair of Operational Data Working Group

Yvonne is an experienced postal and logistics professional, currently serving as Postal Products and Regulations Specialist at PostNL. In this role, she represents PostNL at IPC, PostEurop, and UPU meetings, evaluates the impact of international regulatory and product changes, and oversees global transit solutions.

Previously, Yvonne was Operational Partnership Manager at PostNL (2019–2024), where she played a key role in operational meetings with IPC and PostEurop and acted as the liaison for PostNL’s global transit solutions.

Before moving to the Netherlands and joining PostNL, in 2019, Yvonne built a strong foundation in international business and logistics during her decade-long tenure at Royal Dutch Shell in the UK, where she held various roles.

Originally from Germany, Yvonne moved to the UK in 2004 after completing her university studies.

Jan Matthys – Vice-Chair of the Health & Work Safety Working Group

Jan Matthys is a seasoned expert in health, safety, and risk management, currently serving as Director of Prevention at bpost Belgium. Since 2012, he has led initiatives on health & safety and psychosocial risk management, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.

Before joining bpost, Jan built an extensive career at Carrefour Belgium (1987–2012), where he progressed from department manager and store director to Head of Health, Safety & Security. His leadership spanned over two decades, managing multiple supermarkets and hypermarkets across Antwerp and Brussels.

In 2006, he further strengthened his expertise by earning a Safety Expert Level 1 certification from Antwerp Management School.

With a wealth of experience in operations, safety, and risk prevention, Jan continues to play a crucial role in fostering a secure and healthy workplace at bpost.

PostEurop extend their warmest congratulations to Ian, Xavier, Yvonne, and Jan on their new roles. Their expertise and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of PostEurop and its initiatives.
