World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. It is coordinated by the global organization Let’s Do It! World. PostEurop has collaborated with Let’s Do It! World, as part of its 30th Anniversary celebrations, to encourage Postal Operators across Europe to take part.
This year World Clean Up Day is Saturday 16 September 2023 and ahead of this, volunteers at Guernsey Post have been busy collecting litter around its Headquarters and surrounding areas. Over 60 kilos of rubbish was collected in just one morning.
Dawn Gallienne, Head of Corporate Engagement at Guernsey Post said “We are pleased to have supported World Clean Up Day. It’s had an immediate and positive impact on our local environment, and I think we are all quite shocked at just how much rubbish we collected in a short space time.”
