Guernsey Post is proud to announce the official launch of two innovative services designed to make online shopping easier and more accessible for island residents. The myUKaddress service and the RockShopper Online Directory have already seen an overwhelmingly positive response, with nearly 2,000 sign-ups within the first few days.
The myUKaddress service addresses a common challenge for islanders: the inability to shop with UK retailers that do not deliver to Guernsey. By providing Guernsey residents with a unique UK delivery address, the service allows them to shop freely from UK e-commerce sites. Items are then sent to Guernsey Post’s new parcel hub in Portsmouth, where they are shipped onward for local delivery by Guernsey Post.
In addition, Guernsey Post has also launched the RockShopper Online Directory, a comprehensive resource for Guernsey shoppers. The directory features a list of hundreds of online retailers that either deliver directly to Guernsey or can be accessed using the myUKaddress service. Key features include listings of retailers that offer VAT-free shopping for island residents, free delivery options, and easy returns. Local retailers are also featured in the directory, further enhancing the convenience of shopping from home for Guernsey residents.
Cassandra Fish, Head of Commercial at Guernsey Post, commented: “We’ve been thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response to myUKaddress and RockShopper. Islanders are finding it much easier to shop online without the typical barriers, and we’re delighted to also support our local retailers by featuring them in the RockShopper directory. We’re committed to making online shopping as convenient as possible for our customers.”
The launch of these services is a key part of Guernsey Post’s broader transformation strategy. The company has been working across departments to drive innovation and enhance its service offering, with the ultimate goal of returning the business to profitability while delivering enhanced value to its customers.
Steve Sheridan, Deputy Chief Executive of Guernsey Post, said: “These launches represent a significant milestone in Guernsey Post’s transformation journey. Our teams have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, collaborating across departments to bring these services to life. This is all about meeting the evolving needs of our customers, supporting local businesses, and positioning the company for a strong future. We’re proud of the progress so far and excited for what lies ahead.”
To complement the RockShopper directory, Guernsey Post has launched new social media channels on Facebook and Instagram under the handle @RockShopper, offering islanders the latest updates on retailers, sales, and shipping tips.
These new services are part of Guernsey Post’s ongoing efforts to innovate, improve customer experience, and create solutions tailored to the unique needs of the island.
