PostEurop is proud to announce the winners of the 8th Innovation Award, celebrating the most groundbreaking achievements in the European postal sector.
The award ceremony took place during PostEurop’s General Assembly in Belgrade, Serbia, highlighting the importance of innovation as a driving force in shaping the future of postal services..
Under the leadership of Carlos Bhatt (CTT Portugal Post), Chair of the Innovation Forum, and Co-Chairs Sophie Desier-Biehler (La Poste Group) and Thierry Golliard (Swiss Post), the Innovation Award continues to recognize the creative and transformative projects developed by PostEurop members. Launched in 2017, the award has become a benchmark for innovation in the postal industry, celebrating over 90 projects from 45 postal operators to date.
This year, 13 postal operators submitted entries, showcasing a diverse range of innovative initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, customer experience, and sustainability. From cutting-edge technologies such as AI and automation to sustainability and societal governance, the projects reflect the sector’s resilience and commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the modern world.
The Winners:
PostEurop Innovation Award Winner: The Feedback Button by Post NL (The Netherlands). This innovative solution enables direct communication between delivery drivers and consumers, strengthening relationships and improving operational efficiency.
PostEurop JPF Rising Star Award Winner: “C-First” CX Initiative by Post Luxembourg (Luxembourg). This initiative transformed complaint handling, strengthened customer service, aligned operations with strategy, and built stronger emotional connections, enhancing satisfaction and loyalty.
Carlos Bhatt, Chair of the Innovation Forum, emphasized the significance of the award: “Innovation is not just about new technologies; it’s about reimagining the way we serve our communities. The projects showcased this year underline the essential role postal operators play in connecting people and businesses, and their commitment to driving progress through collaboration and creativity.”
The Rising Star Award, now in its second edition, welcomes postal members from Wider Europe and recognizes the most impactful innovation compared to the industry’s status quo. Post Luxembourg’s “C-First” initiative impressed the jury with its customer-centric approach, further solidifying the importance of putting people at the heart of postal innovations.
As the postal industry stands at a crossroads, innovation is no longer a choice but a necessity. Emerging trends such as generative AI, automation, and robotics, combined with sustainable practices, are critical to ensuring that postal operators remain competitive while delivering essential services to society. The 2024 Innovation Award winners serve as a source of inspiration, encouraging all members to embrace transformation and lead the way in a rapidly evolving world.
