Swiss Post is acquiring a stake in the company Steriparc SA, a joint venture for externalized handling of medical equipment in Western Switzerland. Thanks to this partnership, Swiss Post is expanding its logistics services in the healthcare sector, in particular sterile equipment preparation services in Western Switzerland.

As an overall logistics service provider, Swiss Post has offered sustainable, holistic and efficient logistics solutions for medical services for many years, primarily logistics and handling for medical equipment. By acquiring a stake in Steriparc SA, Swiss Post is expanding its holistic, secure logistics services in the Swiss healthcare sector.

The aim of the joint venture Steriparc is to offer a platform for hospitals and other medical service providers to harness their strengths and skills in the field of sterilization, care and maintenance of medical equipment in Western Switzerland.

Steriparc SA was founded in March 2023 as a joint venture between Youcare Consulting SA and Aevis Victoria SA, the parent company of Swiss Medical Network, one of the two major private clinic and hospital groups in Switzerland, with the goal of setting up a new company providing outsourced sterilization services for medical service providers, such as hospitals and outpatient clinics.

Steriparc SA expects to be operational from autumn 2024 and will be based in Yverdon-les-Bains in the Canton of Vaud.

Johannes Cramer, Member of Executive Management and Head of Swiss Post’s Logistics Services unit, is convinced: “This partnership will enable us to provide even better support for the healthcare sector and medical service providers in French-speaking Switzerland by offering a full range of sterile preparation services.”

Antoine Hubert, Delegate of the Board of Directors of Aevis Victoria, adds: “Swiss Post has been operating as a trusted service provider in the healthcare sector for a number of years. This partnership will enable us to launch this ambitious project in French-speaking Switzerland before extending it country wide.”
